In the words of Etta James “At Last!” we have reached the end of the blog series.
Over the course of this blog, you guys have followed decade after decade of powerful female artists and I want to take this moment to say THANK YOU!
Of course, not every female artist was represented. This blog was meant to primarily highlight female artists in the rock and pop genre, but I wanted to take this time to highlight a few “honorable mentions” if you will.
Patsy Cline (born Virginia Patterson Hensley; September 8, 1932 – March 5, 1963) was an American country singer. She is considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century and was one of the first country music artists to successfully cross over into pop music.
Diana Ross (born March 26, 1944) is an American singer and actress. Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of the vocal group The Supremes. They became Motown's most successful act during the 1960s and one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. The Supremes remain the best-charting female group in US history.
Gloria Estefan (Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García) is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. Estefan started her career as the lead singer in the group Miami Latin Boys, which later became known as Miami Sound Machine. She experienced worldwide success with "Conga" in 1985; this became Estefan's signature song and led to the Miami Sound Machine winning the Grand Prix in the 15th annual Tokyo Music Festival in 1986.
En Vogue is an American R&B/pop vocal group whose original line-up consisted of singers Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones. The group formed in Oakland, California in 1989. En Vogue reached number two on the US Hot 100 with the single "Hold On", taken from their 1990 debut album Born to Sing. The group's 1992 follow-up album Funky Divas reached the top 10 in both the US and UK, and included their second US number two hit "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" as well as the US top 10 hits "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" and "Free Your Mind"

Again thank you guys so much for following me on this journey. I hope everyone is feeling EMPOWERED and found some new favorite songs (which is always the goal).
However, this is not the end of me! As I mentioned in my first blog post I am really passionate about music and if would like more of my content I will direct you to my NEW and very official “Claire on the Air” Instagram page. On this page, I will post updates about my live radio shows as well as my podcast episodes. I talk about a variety of topics with and without guests but it generally falls under a music category. In the future, I will be doing a podcast episode dedicated to this blog and why I picked the artists I did.
Thank you guys so much for coming to my blog every week and I hope to see some followers on my new page!
